Hosted by Glenn and his very special guests, this podcast is a virtual trip back in time to the halcyon days of our childhood - the 1980s (and early 1990s). Every week we explore at least one facet of 80's pop culture, discuss questions from our listeners, and report the news from at least 4 of the main franchises of the 80's that are still around today!

It's that time of year again - it's CHRISTMAS!

So we're going to be joined by various people, to talk about their memories of Christmas in the Eighties, and go through what was on telly when they were wee'uns!

This week it's Duncan's turn, as we talk about Christmas movies, his favourite presents, and what was on TV on the year of his birth, 1986!

We've reached the Eleventh Doctor, and it's a difficult time for Leigh and Glenn as now they have to pick their favourite episodes from arguably their favourite Doctor of the Modern Era.

Trust me, you lot don't know how hard this was!

Next time, we'll be looking at the two celebratory episodes of Eleven's run, just in time for the Festive Season!

Thanks for everything, Stan. Excelsior!

The team is now three! Amy and Glenn are now joined also by David Wallace, and the first major evil they attack as the Power of Three is 1997's Batman and Robin, the movie that effectively killed of DC Comics movies until Batman Begins came along in 2005.

But is it's reputation earned? Or is Joel Schumacher unfairly maligned and misunderstood?

Spoiler: ...ish.

Duncan from Stacebob and the Dweebs joins us again for the second of our Nineties specials, and this time we're talking about the comic book movie failures in the wake of Batman being released in 1989.

See, the movie studios all wanted another comic book movie hit, but weren't willing to spend the money to licence Marvel or DC characters, so they bought all of the pulp heroes of the 1930s to try and make it happen. We're focusing on the Rocketeer, Dick Tracy, The Phantom and The Shadow, and trying to figure out why they didn't catch on like Batman did. (SPOILER: Mainly because they weren't Batman.)

It's the turn of Doctor number 3 to come under the spotlight of Leigh and Glenn, as they look at not only UNIT, Jo, Liz, Sarah Jane, The Master and all the other great foes he came up against, but also the real world reasons why the Third Doctor ended up being an exile on planet Earth, sometime around the 1970s or 80s. Ish.

Don't worry. We're not opening THAT particular can of worms anytime soon.

Making your way in the world today takes everything you've got...so pull up a stool, order a cold beer and listen to this week's Back to the Eighties, in which our special guest, Pete Gaskell from the lovely Smorgasbored podcast, lets us know all about Cheers, the legendary Eighties sitcom, which was not only one of the most popular and critically acclaimed sitcoms of modern times, but also span off one of the most popular and critically acclaimed sitcoms of modern times!

No, not "The Tortellis". The other one.

Duncan joins us again this week - yes, Duncan from Stacebob and the Dweebs! He's come on again to talk about one of his favourite movie franchises - the Lethal Weapon series! That age-old tale of older cop meets unhinged cop, meets violent paramilitary drug dealing organisation. You know, that old chesnut.

So expect thrills, spills, Three Stooges, Leo Getz, evil diplomats and getting screwed at the Drive Thru.

Ok, ok, ok.

We're back! After a while away, Leigh and Glenn return to talk about Doctor Who, in it's Classic and Nu-Who forms, from DVDs to Big Finish, from the Target Novelisations to Dr Who Mr Men, it's all here!

This time around, they have a bit of a natter about the latest Christmas special, the new Doctor, and whether or not it's ok to say "arse" on telly at 6pm on Christmas Day...

Andy from the mighty Smorgaspod joins us this week, as we talk not only about the latest episode of the Star Wars saga, The Last Jedi (now that all the dust has settled), but also Glenn's experience at the recent "An Evening with Chevy Chase" - an event either ruined or enhanced by the addition of 80's DJ and Saturday Superstore host, Mike Read!

Yes, that bloke who did the UKIP calypso.

It's the Back to the Eighties Friday Big Shop, which means that we'll be taking a trip down Memory Lane, and looking at some of the supermarkets in the UK that sadly didn't make it out of the Eighties, or at the very least the Nineties.

Joining Glenn on this meander is none other than Jenny for the World of Crap, so let's grab a trolley, go through the big turnstile and the trolley flaps, and prepare to be disappointed by not being allowed to look down the toy aisle - it's time for some shopping!

Happy 2018 everyone!

In this first show, Glenn's joined by good old Duncan Sparrow from the Podcast in a Half Shell (soon to be renamed) - and this time he's chose to bring forth the 1988 Tim Burton classic spooktacular Beetlejuice!

So be sure NOT to name Him three times (Beetlejuice, not Dunc, obvs) and keep your Handbook for the Recently Deceased with you at all times - this is gonna get weird.
